Turkeys

Turkeys (enroll in “Poultry” project) Open to all ages   Learn how to raise, feed, and show them. Learn the concept of feed efficiency and what a judge is looking for in a live bird to end up with the Thanksgiving turkey on the table; the difference between heritage (natural origins) and broad-breasted (commercial) strains of turkeys. May show a market (meat) turkey at the Fair during market week, or show a heritage turkey during exhibition poultry week. Meetings same as for “Birds-Poultry”
