Old Timers (listed as "Foods-Preservation:Baking" in online enrollment) Open to all ages We will explore various skills employed by "Old Timers." Past activities have included harvesting honey; making homemade meals, jam, applesauce, root beer, yogurt, butter, cheese, and bread; making soap; hand sewing holiday ornaments; making rag rugs; making a scarecrow for the San Diego County Fair; planting a garden; dying Easter Eggs with natural plant dyes; a field trip to an organic farm; and visiting Sugar Sweet Farms to see a real farm, baby animals and a goat being milked.
