The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ program for young Americans. In the Congressional Award program, you set personal goals and work toward achieving them. Along the way, you will learn how to plan and implement those plans, develop new skills and qualities, and explore new activities.
There are six levels of achievement – three certificates (bronze, silver and gold) and three medals (bronze, silver and gold). Each level involves setting and working toward goals in four program areas:
Voluntary Public Service
Personal Development
Physical Fitness and
Expedition/Exploration
Each level requires a minimum number of hours of participation (see website below). Earning a Congressional Award is a fun and interesting way to get more involved in activities you already enjoy, or activities you’d like to try for the first time. You move at your own pace – on your own or with friends. This is not an award for past accomplishments. Instead, you are setting your own goals and working toward achieving them.
At our meetings, we will provide support and ideas, and work on record keeping requirements.  There is a $15 registration fee.
See   "http://congressionalaward.org/about/" for more information.
